Slow camp mornings

"I opened the corner of my pup tent hoping the cool air would spur me into action. Nope. It just felt good and I promptly curled up for another ten minutes. My dad knew I was awake now though, and got the Coleman stove out to start our coffee. Watching him toil at the stove from my cozy cocoon was the final motivator. I dragged myself into the dry Southern Illinois air. I wasn't fully giving up on sleep though. Wrapped up in my sleeping bag I watched the water boil, happy to be "contributing" to our morning routine."

"Now I see the secret of making the best persons; it is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth."
